7 Days Uganda Primate and Wildlife Safari

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide, who will brief you about the safari before departing for Murchison Falls National Park. En route, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino-tracking experience. Continue through Uganda’s scenic countryside, with lunch along the way. Upon arrival at the park, visit the top of Murchison Falls and witness the mighty Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge, creating spectacular views and photo opportunities. Later, transfer to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive across Murchison Falls National Park’s open savannah plains. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, zebras, warthogs, baboons, and Patas monkeys. You may also spot predators such as lions, hyenas, and leopards, alongside a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, head to Paraa Jetty for a scenic boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Enjoy close-up views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and colourful waterbirds along the riverbanks. After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the journey to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. Enjoy a scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside, passing traditional homesteads, local communities, tea plantations, crater lakes, and beautiful views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Stop for lunch along the way before continuing to Kibale. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the exciting chimpanzee-tracking experience ahead. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your exciting chimpanzee-tracking adventure. Accompanied by an experienced park guide, trek through the forest in search of chimpanzees, while spotting other primates such as red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys, alongside diverse birdlife and plant species.

Once you locate the chimpanzees, spend an unforgettable hour observing their natural behaviours, including feeding, playing, and interacting with one another. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, renowned for its rich birdlife, primates, and lush vegetation. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet with your driver guide and thereafter begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On the way you will have lunch en-route and then continue the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation Option: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge or Similar

After an early breakfast, meet your driver-guide and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, venture into Bwindi’s dense rainforest in search of an allocated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take several hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, so comfortable hiking shoes, drinking water, and a porter if needed are recommended.

Once you find the gorillas, spend a memorable hour observing and photographing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax or enjoy an optional cultural visit to a local Batwa community. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy scenic views of Uganda’s countryside, with a stop in Mbarara for lunch along the way. Continue to the Equator crossing at Kayabwe, where you can take memorable photos, shop for souvenirs, and learn interesting facts about the Equator.
Later, proceed to Kampala or transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
